Frequently Asked Weddings Questions
Q: What’s your Wedding day approach and photography style?
We believe that our role on your wedding day goes does not stop at capturing stunning photos. We work to support our couples on the most exciting day of their lives - from pre-wedding consultations to wedding day prep/guidance when needed! We bring our experience of 200+ weddings to help make you feel as-ease and enjoy your day to its full.
Let’s also talk photography, a passion of ours! We love capturing you at your best, and let’s be honest, sometimes the biggest smiles are when you forget we are even there! We love capturing the candid in-between moments for you to look back on and be instantly transported to that moment- so often try to be unobtrusive. At the same time, we are also very comfortable directing couples as needed and raising our voices to command family members into orderly formation!
Q: How important is a second photographer?
While we are very comfortable photographing solo / with many of our couples deciding on single photographer coverage, we highly recommend two if your budget + venue allows for it! For $900 you essentially double the angles of your wedding day! And the rate for additional hours is the same regardless of the number of photographers. We share that no matter how good a photographer is, they are still limited by time and space. Two examples are if you are both preparing for the day in different locations, we are able to capture you both simultaneously or while you are getting your family formals, the second photographer is able to join your cocktail and capture details and candids of your guests!
Q: Gallery timeline and Quantity?
We aim to get you a dozen or two highlight images to enjoy + share within 48 hours of your day. Then promise to have your full edited gallery link to you within two months from your date. And depending on the hours/number of photographers hired can expect anywhere from 550 - 750 images from the day. The full-resolution gallery will be downloadable and available to access for two years from your date, but highly recommend you download and back up your wedding photos on your own hard drives.
Q: What’s your editing style?
We aspire to keep our edits clean and natural- we admire the feel of analog Kodak film so try to keep colors warm and accurate. But do also love some B+W as well, often about 5% of the images are in BW, but specific images can be converted back to color upon request.
Q: How important is an Engagement Session?
As important as you want them to be - encouraged but not vital. Can often be ideal for save-the-dates or incorporated into invitations. But beyond that, it is a great way to get to know your photographer a bit better and get more comfortable in front of the lens! Lastly, your engagement time is so short relative to your lives ahead as a married couple, that it is fun to be able to look back on this brief season of your life and enjoy the (fun!) photos together.
Q: How far do you travel?
We are open to travel where ever you wish to bring us! With the agreement that travel accommodations are covered by our client. But in New England, the first hour of travel from Beverly each way is included then beyond that we have a $50/hr fee for travel. And if the drive post-wedding would bring us into the next day we ask for a modest hotel for the night.
